Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.
The Alcott Chimney Atlanta Guarantee
We started Alcott Chimney Atlanta in 2002 with a simple position: the company that puts its price and its people in writing has nothing to hide. A guarantee that lives only in a handshake is not a guarantee, it is a hope. So here is what ours means in practice. Every repair we make in Atlanta carries a written guarantee at no extra charge. If that repair fails within the coverage period, the second visit is free. Every sweep and inspection comes with a written price before any work begins, never after. And every technician who arrives at your door has already been background-checked, identity-verified, and introduced to you by name and photo. That is the whole arrangement, and we do not run a job without it.
What’s Covered
- Workmanship on every repair. If the repair we make fails during the coverage period stated on your written guarantee, we return and make it right at no cost for the second visit.
- Parts and materials we install. We carry and install professional trade brands, DuraFlex liner systems, HeatShield resurfacing, Gelco, Olympia Chimney, Famco, and Copperfield, materials specified by chimney professionals, and we stand behind how they are fitted.
- A written price before work begins. You receive the number in writing before we touch anything. It is always included and never negotiable as an afterthought.
- Cleanup as part of the job. The area around your fireplace and hearth is protected and left clean. A sweep that leaves soot on your rug is not finished.
- Background-checked, identity-verified technicians. Before we arrive, you will know the technician’s name and see their photo. They are required to show a photo ID badge at the door. Every time, no exceptions. This is the Threshold Standard, not an optional upgrade.
- Honest recommendations backed by evidence. If we tell you a liner is cracked or masonry needs work, we show you the camera footage from the inspection. You will see what we see before you spend a dollar on repairs.

Our Satisfaction Promise
If something about the work does not sit right, call us. A live person answers the phone around the clock, not a voicemail tree at 2 a.m. when you are worried about a smell in the house. Tell us what you are seeing. If the issue is something we missed, we come back and address it. If a repair we made fails within the coverage period, the second visit is free, full stop. If the work was done correctly but the explanation was not clear, we walk you through it until it is. Ruben Castellano, the owner, would rather spend an extra hour explaining creosote buildup on a video call than have an Atlanta homeowner quietly unsure whether their fireplace is safe to light. The goal is not to close a ticket. The goal is a chimney you can use without second-guessing it. And if we cannot answer your question honestly, we will say so instead of inventing a comfortable answer.
Licensed & Insured Backing
A written guarantee is only as strong as the company standing behind it, and that is where licensing and insurance do the real work. Alcott Chimney Atlanta is licensed and insured, operating as an independently owned and operated location within the Threshold Group family of home service companies. That structure matters because it means our standards are not suggestions. Every technician who steps onto an Atlanta property has passed a background check and identity verification before the visit, is uniformed, and arrives announced by name and photo. Insurance protects the homeowner if something on the property gets damaged. The written guarantee protects the homeowner if the work itself fails. Together, they mean you are not relying on good intentions. You are relying on written commitments and real accountability.

AfterWhy We Do It This Way
Atlanta chimneys take a beating from humidity, rain, and the kind of temperature swings that open hairline cracks in mortar. A chimney that looks fine from the driveway can be hiding a slow creosote problem or a liner crack that puts carbon monoxide where it should never be. The whole point of sweeping and inspecting is to catch those problems before they become emergencies. That only works if the homeowner trusts the person holding the camera. A vague promise from a nameless technician does not build that trust. A written price, a written guarantee, and a technician you can vet before they ring the bell does. That is the Threshold Standard we have followed since 2002, and it is the reason we put it in writing instead of asking you to take our word for it.
What the Guarantee Does Not Cover
Honesty cuts both ways, so we will tell you what the guarantee does not pretend to cover. It does not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, extreme weather events, or the normal wearing-out of a chimney that has never been maintained in twenty years. If a tree falls on the cap, that is an insurance matter, not a workmanship matter. What it covers is us: the work we did, the parts we installed, and the promises we made on paper. The point is not to find a loophole in your direction. The point is that when we are the variable, we own the result.
A Note on Chimney Safety in Atlanta
For 23 years, we have recommended a professional sweep and inspection at least once a year for any fireplace that gets regular use. If you see dark, tar-like accumulation on the walls of the flue, that is creosote, and it is the leading cause of chimney fires. You can see it, but cleaning it properly requires equipment and know-how that reaches well above what a homeowner can do safely from the hearth. Do not try to remove heavy creosote yourself. If you are overdue for a sweep or just want a second opinion on your chimney’s condition, call us at (762) 356-6423. We will send a technician you can look up before you open the door.
